Chief TerHark has been a member of the department since 1994. He graduated officer training in 1995 from Hawkeye College. Assistant Chief TerHark is a Dare Instructor, and an INOA Member. Prior to becoming an officer, he worked as a private investigator, and a security officer in Kansas City. He also worked at Monsanto, shortly before joining the Clarion Police Department. Assistant Chief TerHark has twin girls, Hannah and Sydney, who are 8 years old. His favorite part of Law Enforcement is "You never know what to expect. There is something different each shift. I also enjoy talking to the kids in school." During his off duty time he enjoys golf, softball, baseball, lifting weights, and playing sports with his girls.

Assistant Chief Anderson graduated the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy's 153rd Basic Class. Prior to becoming an officer Sergeant Anderson served his country in the USAF as a military policeman from 1987-1991. He served on a special OPS team based in Turkey. He is also a Desert Storm Veteran. In 1993-1995 Sergeant Anderson was a reserve officer for Hawarden, Iowa Police Department. In 1996-2001 Sergeant Anderson served as Chief of Police for Dows, Iowa. He joined the Clarion Police Department in 2001. He holds many certifications such as Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, and Mace Instructor. Sergeant Anderson is also the Reserve Program Coordinator. His favorite part of law enforcement is "burglary investigations". He is married with two children. In his off duty time he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, and coaching youth sports.

Sergeant Hennigar joined the Department in September 17, 2007. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in April 2006 from the 209th Basic Class. Prior to joining the Clarion Police Department, Officer Hennigar served as a patrolman for the City of Eagle Grove.  His favorite part of Law Enforcement is helping those in their darkest hours until a dawn of a new day.   Other law enforcement interests are crime scene investigations and forensic statement analysis. Officer Hennigar has one son Cole. In his off duty time you can find him fishing and with his family.

Officer Thompson has been a member of the department since 2004. He graduated officer training in 1997.Officer Thompson specializes in Defensive Tactics, Hostage Negotiations, Driving Instructor, and Field Sobriety. He is also a Stop Stick instructor. Prior to becoming an officer, he worked with behavior disorder students. Officer Thompson is married with two children (of the canine persuasion). Officer Thompson's favorite part of Law Enforcement is simply that "no day is the same." During his off duty time he can be found detailing vehicles or motorcycle riding.
